candidate statement
I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Governing Board Member of the Coast Community College District. With a deep commitment to education and community service, I bring to this role a blend of Governing Board experience, fiscal oversight, and community leadership.
For nearly 30 years, I have been actively involved in the education field, from serving as a student leader to parent advocate, and now as Trustee on the Fountain Valley School District Governing Board.
Particularly, with the Coast Community College District, I ensured taxpayers’ dollars were spent wisely by serving six years on the Citizen’s Oversight Committee for the $698 million bond which paid for the construction and modernization of our three campuses: Orange Coast, Goldenwest, and Coastline Community Colleges.
As a Governing Board Member, I will provide fiscal oversight and transparency, prioritize removing any barrier to student achievement, and work to ensure that our colleges remain accessible and affordable to all. Every student deserves an opportunity to succeed!
